Megameet Trackday Pictures & Discussion

Post by Truenotch »

Megameet turned out to be a roaring success this year... And the trackday didn't disappoint.

I CBF cropping & editing shots, so here's a couple of teasers hot off the camera:

Was a good day. Its always a good day when the car still goes at the end of it! :D
Anyone get any pictures of THE STARVIA(multi coloured starlet)?

I never remember to use sunscreen on track days. My face is so burnt right now.

My brakes are poo. They are great for normal road driving. But they get soft after about the first lap or two when they heat up, they still work, but the pedal seems to go down further. I flushed the brake fluid with new stuff last week... so it shouldn't be that.
Its been suggested to try HAWK or 1166MINTEX pads.
My cooling is also not the best. I will try that water wetter stuff before going and buying a flash new radiator.

I'd suggest Hawk (if you can get them) over M1166, they seem to hold together for longer.

My highlight was managing to get a ride in that Supra! Thanks again to Coryn for the offer and the owners for the experience!

Also thanks to everyone that helped to make the trackday go ahead! Too bad I wasn't out there racing!

Glad you liked it did you like how close we were down all the straights and in the corners and at least you no the potiential of your car now as I run the same setup in my car that is in yours only difference being I have all the BPU mods and the F-Con and as you can see when driven fairly well they are pretty potent even if they are Auto...   .

Also the strongest point in my view of Supra's and people will say different but the Brakes in our cars are really good from stock as I have the TRD callipers but that car you were in still runs the factory 4/2 pot callipers with upgraded pads.

Yep you got it manually shifting the Auto it takes a bit it up shift but on the down it goes in straight away.

Yeah it was good how close we were lol. It is good to know the potential of my car now... Though I could do with some semi-slicks (at least) before I try anything close to that lol.

I assume you were manually shifting the Auto? I'm just trying to get used to it tbh, it's annoying it doesn't react as fast as you want it to.

I completely agree with the brakes on the supra, there's a reason they stopped the Supra in a short enough distance to keep a record for as long as they did!
Cheers,
Brandon

I didn't take pics with my camera at any other events, was too busy having a great time, although I did get a hold of Girv's camera at the track day and got a few goodies that should show up later.

Excellent first megameet for me, cheers Nilpsi, and rich for hosting our rock band marathon, and everyone else who participated this weekend, will hopefully see most of you again next year :)

I'd give Hawk HT-10s a shot they give really good bite and the set I've used in the front seem to work really well. They have lasted me probably 100-150 laps and in a heavy car like mine 1.6 tonne I'm figuring in a lighter car like yours they may even last longer.what fluid are you using I'd probably look at Motul RBF 600 or the newer 660 they do a pretty good job.

No sorry, I had a sleep in and only took pics from the far side of the track in the afternoon.... Missed out on snapping quite a few cars.

Snoozin has a pile of shots from the infield that he took in the morning, but they'll take a wee while to process.
