have one in my KE25, no problems at all.

uses the factory achorage points

the point where people run in to problems is where the seatbelt bottom half is attached to the actual seat, if this is the case & you have to relocate it then you are in cert teritory

why would you want to its god dam horrible on long trips , as for legality technically no , as rear passengers cant exit the car in a safely manner and no cause you will have to modify the seat rails to make it work , you would then need a cert , but there are alot of dodgy garages that would let it through 8)

In a 2 door, no you can't. You will fail a wof.
Unless you remove the rear seat belts and seats to classify it as a 2 seater.

How many fixed back race seats are you looking to install?

I can't tell from your first post if you are intending to fit one, or two seats.

I'm a tard

That being the case, yes, you can mount one seat, because a rear seat passenger can exit as per normal from the rear seat using the other factory slide / tilt seat as their exit point.

you should try sitting in a race seat that actually fits you, as by that comment, you have only ever been in ones that are too small. with a correctly sized race seat you should be able to sit in all day comfy as

that's only if you can mount it without adjusting the seat rails. it will need a cert (technically)even if it still passes WOFs unnoticed

it also needs to be adjustable (on rails) within a certain range so different drivers can jump into the car and be able to drive it safely for cert.

Oh my god, my Bride Zeta III fixed back was the most comfortable seat ive ever sat in. More comfy than many other recliners ive sat in.

There is a reason the rrp is over $1500, you get what you pay for.

My racetech is more comfortable than a stock seat for a long drive, in no small part due to having to hold yourself up everytime you go around a corner.

Really? As far as I interpreted the VIRM, if you had modified the slider, or it didn't work you will need a cert, or repair it. However like most things with a WOF. If your car doesn't have it, it can't be checked. I had a raceseat in one of my old cars. We used the factory mounts, bolted an alloy plate to them, then bolted the seat to the alloy plate. Removed the slider.

4. The adjustment mechanism of a driver’s seat:
a) does not operate, or
b) is worn, causing excessive movement of the seat.

yeah this is for getting a cert. this is why my rails for my jamex seats costed so much cause they had to be able to slide back and foward within the range of the std seat.

perhaps it was just a very picky cert officer who was checking the work. but it makes sense as a low volume cert in principle is there to allow us to modify our cars and ensure that everything is safe so if we have a crash etc, we are just as safe as if it were a std road car.

of course it doesn't seem this way and is just a PITA most of the time. but hey. theory is awesome

Two different cert guys didn't say anything about this for THE STARVIA when I got it certed. It has two fixed back race seats, the only way you can adjust them is spend 20minutes undoing the bolts for the seat brackets (1minute each for the first 3 and 17minutes for the last one  ) to move them to the next set of holes. I have no back seats.

4009W is where confort is at

I have 4009W's in my spare race car, and racepro's in my new one.
No comparison in build quality, but I actually like the lumbar support in the racepro better. Everything else, the racetech kicks ass.
I could just add a pillow to the 4009W I guess

I actually got velcro attachable lumbar cushion's with my racetech's (which are not as awesome and way less bling than 4009's) - yours for a reasonable offer

I have a fixed back seat in my Silvia, and a cop pulled me over the other day and asked if I had a cert for it. Told him that it's on factory rails (which it is) and he said that's fine.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.
