AVS Boot Out / Boot Release
The AVS alarm in my Terrano has a wire labled 'boot out'. I want to hook up the alarm so the rear boot window unlocks (+12v) however when I press the boot release (left button on the remote for 3 seconds) nothing happens other than the alarm chirping a couple times.
Is anyone familiar with AVS installs and what I need to do to get this working?

How is it wired in? Output to a relay to the window motor I take it?

No, more asking how is the alarm triggering the boot release? Is there an output directly to the boot release motor or does it trigger a relay?

There is a an output wire labled "Boot Out" coming from the alarm, running 0.30v when connected to the multimeter. When I hold the boot release button for 3 seconds the alarm chirps twice and the voltage jumps to 0.60v for a few seconds, before dropping back to 0.30v.
From what I gather from the user manual (not the installation manual) I do not require a separate relay / part to trigger the boot. I was hoping / expecting the 'boot out' to spike to 12v, which would have triggered the existing boot relay.
There is a an output wire labled "Boot Out" coming from the alarm, running 0.30v when connected to the multimeter. When I hold the boot release button for 3 seconds the alarm chirps twice and the voltage jumps to 0.60v for a few seconds, before dropping back to 0.30v.

Right, that makes sense. Obvious question - but you have checked to see it is actually connected to the relay?

0.3 to 0.6 volts sounds like it is a transistor being turned on to sink a current. Try putting a largish (say 1K ohm) resistor between 12V and the alarm output and seeing if it then becomes 12V, pulling down to ~1V when you activate the output.

Fairly sure; I connected the wire right after the interior boot switch (i.e. 0v side - diagram below minus the resistor).

With low active/sink switches you supply "ground" to the relay (while 12V is constant). So your diagram will not work. You will need to drive a separate relay to achieve what you want (providing your alarm is OK and you have not blown the output transistor by applying 12V to it), or if alarm allows it, switch the mode of operation of the output.

It's a negative out put rated at 200mA. If you need a positive output you will need a relay. Are you running the onboard turbo timer? If so boot out no longer works as this wire becomes secondary ignition control.

From memory it is set to boot out from the factory, hold the button down for 3 seconds and it will produce a negative output.
You can program it to instant boot release too if you want.
Programming instructions are in the installation manual, any AVS installer should help you out.
