AE111 6 speed LSD recommendations?
The LSD in my AE111 has been on its way out for a while and now sounds like it is very close to expiring.
I have 2 non LSD 6 speed boxes as potential replacements and am looking to fit an aftermarket LSD to one of those.
My question is which aftermaket offering should I go for - TRD, Quaife, Cusco ...

Re: Manual boost controller
I ran manual needle style bleed valves for years without issue on both a skyline and starlet I used to own. Main problem with a bleed valve setup is that they don't cope with boost spikes very well so you end up having to set your boost lower than you might be able to achieve with a good automated ...

Re: AE111 rear suspension bushes - where to buy?
Thanks guys, have decided to look into Toyota replacement bits because there is probably limited benefit to upgrading for my use (occassional tracking only and already have coilovers, sway bars etc.)
Plus I'm combining a BZ-R with chassis damage with a straight BZ-G. While Google tells me that the ...

AE111 rear suspension bushes - where to buy?
Can anyone tell me where I can source a full set of replacement suspension bushes for an AE111?
Preferably looking to upgrade so haven't tried Mark yet for genuine, but that's plan B. Some preliminary internet searching suggests there is a supplier in the UK (SuperFlex), but hoping to find a local ...

AE111 McPherson to Superstrut conversion?
Yes, I know this is the opposite way round to the path most take, but as per my post (http://forums.toyspeed.org.nz/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=94052), my recently certed BZR is likely to be written off due to rear suspension/chassis damage.

Re: Sluggish to accelerate black top 20v Sprinter GT
I had a similar problem with my AE111. After replacing all of the sensors mentioned in the previous posts, plus a bunch of other testing/fault finding, it turned out to be a faulty knock sensor. It would randomly play up and pull timing making it go totally flat, then it would clear and run sweet ...

Re: 4age clutch compatibilty question
I put a lightened flywheel and Exedy heavy duty clutch kit in my AE111 with C160 just over a year ago. I have done half a dozen track days since (lapping at 2K cup pace, so not taking it easy), plus daily driving, and it has been trouble free.

Re: 7M-GTE track oil pressure to low?
I have found my oil pressure gauge (digital numeric type) almost impossible to read on track. Fortunately it is capable of data logging. When I logged my standard 4age blacktop sump setup (http://forums.toyspeed.org.nz/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=92794&p=961466&hilit=4age+oil+pressure#p961466) the pressures ...

Re: 4age oil temperature
Remember what your really worried about is whether the oil can take the load of the bearings while at that temp for a sustained amount of time.
Yes, good point. Think I might add in a cooler and see where temperatures end up under normal daily driving conditions. If temps are too low I can always ...

Re: 4age oil temperature
What oil are you using, as some oils don't absorb the heat like others do.
At the moment I have Penrite Racing10 10W 40 in it. But have not noticed any appreciable change in temperatures with Mobil 1 or Castrol equivalents. Some may hold up better at high temperature than others but does their ...

Oil temps are being measured in the sump.
Thermo plate looks good but my preference would be to add the cooler into my existing return line from the remote. Can the sandwich plate be installed at the remote end instead? Otherwise I would probably be best to ditch my existing remote or I will end up ...

4age oil temperature
I did a search and found some posts from back in 2006 on this topic but thought maybe people had more recent experience to share?

Re: 4age baffle sump
I thought it might be useful to provide some before and after data following installing a simple gated baffle in my car. I managed to get hold of a secondhand baffle like Mark posted. The bottom half was not available so instead I rolled the edge of the existing horizontal baffle plate to restrict ...

4age 20v blacktop ECU wanted
Would anyone in Auckland happen to have a spare 4age 20v blacktop ECU (capable of running a 6 speed) lying around that I might be able to borrow for a few hours? I have an intermittent electrical gremlin which is proving really difficult to find and the ECU is the current suspect. Before I go ...

Help - blacktop going flat under load
I recently had an issue with my BZ-R levin messing around under acceleration. It was throwing a TPS fault code, and my auto electrician couldn't find any other problems, so we replaced the TPS. While this has certainly sharpened the throttle response, and is no longer throwing a TPS fault, it still ...

Re: Brake pad recommendation for AE111 Levin
Thought I would give a bit of an update. I decided to go for Endless MX72 front pads. They weren't cheap but so far I have put 2 track days at Hampton Downs on them (around 2.5 hours track time) and they have performed flawlessly without a hint of fade. Second session was with R888 semi-slicks so ...
