It can be more restrictive because the purpose of a cat is to reduce harmful emissions, and because say a 3 litre six puts out more harmful gases than a 1.6 four (unless there's something really wrong) the cat for the three litre needs to filter much more exhaust gases. So when you put the bigger ...

I heard magnatec can be bad to because of how it is designed to be magnetically attracted to the metal in your engine. It's all good when you first put it in but when it gets old and you do a oil change alot of the oil stays in places along with the gunk you are trying to get rid of and consequently ...

I wouldn't reccomend getting a bigger cat from a falcon or any other car with a cat made to filter a bigger capacity engine than your own as a cat for a falcon was designed to filter the air of a much bigger capacity engine and can therefore end up being actually more restictive than the one ...

Cam Angle Sensor timing

I just put some bluetop cams in my ae92 gtz and the cam angle sensor is now out of timing and not sparking at the right time and consequently not going :x , does anyone know how to get the teeth back in the right spot, is there a tool or anything that I could use or is it hit and miss

Blue top cam installation problem

I have just done my cambelt, idler, and seals and put a pair of bluetop cams in my ZE. Everything was put in right, timing is right and when I tried to start it up it turns over 4-5 times and then it dies and then repeats that cycle. My starter motor was sweet before I started but my mechanic mate I ...

crank seal issue

I'm putting some bluetop cams in at the mo so I fugured while I was at it I'd put new cam seals, cambelt, and crank seal in but the timing pully that you have to take off down by the crank to change seals won't come off. Has anyone done this on their ae92 gtz and if so did they have the same issue ...

Speedtech do know how to get massive power from them obviously but they can be on the expensive side. Ron at total performance is cheaper and he has done 4age turbo conversions many times and knows his toyotas. Still if your going to pay a shop to do it your going to be paying a fair bit no matter ...

I've heard that a downside to links is that settings cannot be stored. i.e if you want to go to the drag strip you would have to set it to that but then you can't just hit a button to go to a stored setting for everyday driving. Can anyone confirm that?

I have a set of blue tops I'm going to put in my ae92 gtz when I do my cambelt in the next couple of months. Coby extractors for the 4age do not fit on a 4agze sweet because the cam angle sensor gets in the way of one pipe. I know this because I bought some and am now selling them on trademe because they won't fit unless you modify the pipe by the cam angle sensor.
