Well thats interesting? Anyway. I rang SMP about the genuine bearings, they even tried overseas but couldnt get them. They had similar part numbers in their system but not the same.

I just used double row, self aligning bearings (same thing as the genuine ones) with a bigger OD. Standard sizes ...

didnt use the koyo bearings, you cant get them. Went to the KOYO agent (smp) to no avail.
They have a 45mm od, which you cant get.. full stop.

I had the housings machined out to fit larger bearings, with the same ID. (17mm).

The oil seals are another matter, weird sizes too..

The map ...

sc rebuild

if you take the charger off, Il do it for $500, including parts. If you dont want to take it off, pm me and we'l discuss a price.

Evilsi (simon) quoted me around 2.5k for the turbo option + price of intercooler.

you wont beat turbo for performance tho,
you get what you pay for eh.

rebuilding SC

.. FINALY finished. SC is back on the car, boosting hard!!

managed to warp a rotor, completly flog out the gears/keyways in the process. This was because we didnt put a timing mark on the gears in the first place, and had to take them on and off to get them in the right place, thus making them a ...

when you say 'i have a place that can do this' - what do you mean?

Ie, you know of a company that rebuilds them? if so who are they?

Or do you just mean you can get the housings machined somewhere?

Any more news on this? Where about you can get this done?

I think that I may be up for one shortly... 12-14psi and 225k on the clock can't be good for them.

Well as far as I know, no one rebuilds them. Apart from the machining I'm doing it myself. Once I do mine, and if I have no problems ...

belts

you cant get better than gates. simple as that. They invented the vee belt.
There automotive belts are superior to other brands. Toyota probably gets there belts made by mitsuboshi or sumthin, which is ok but not the best.

To tell you the truth dude, dont bother putting a 20v in unless its a blacktop. Stock silvertops aint much more fun than the 16valvers.

I would get a non tvis 100kw, lighter flywheel, extractors, cold airbox.

Only my opinion tho.

GTX Mazdabator (BP) VS GTZ (AE92)

What would you rather have?

I can kinda see where this is going to go being a toyota forum, BUT unbiased opinions please.

I'm thinking of selling the GTZ to get a GTX. (to the dark side!)

4WD would be nice, AND turbo sound/boost.

GTZ has turbo potential (for a price).. but will still ...
