scrap what i have said so far.
i managed 130db (measured with termlab by erkel from DD) i liked it but am wanting louder.
to me the next logical step up is to 140db
what can i buy that will get me there?

listen to lots of music, depending on my mood and who else is in the car.
both subs and amps were cheap but matched nicely, dont think the efficiency was too good as i only managed to get 130db from it

amp was running both subs at 800wrms. well the 2 amps were anyway.
now back to my original question. what would you all reccomend

well i am open to options but from the information i currently have about subs and amps is how i have come to this.
presumably a sub with the same efficency and higher power rating would be louder?
and would really like 2 subs as its a small car and it really helps with the balance

want 1000wrms as the last subs i had were 800wrms and im keen for louder, hence the system upgrade
DVC so i can lower the resistance load on the amp and thus not need 2-3 amps for said sub
amps will be bought after all the subs and speakers have been decided on
as for budget, im quite open within ...

how am i meant to be able to tell if the exhaust system i intend to fit will pass or not?
i dont want to shell out bout $500 for my exhaust system and find that its illegal.
does anyone know of the best mufflers to keep noise down but still increase preformance?

am looking into new subs. i know well enough what i want and am not fussed on brand terribly much
what i want has to be a 12.
it must have at least 1000wrms
it must be at least dual voice coil

anything that exceeds those specs is a possibility and im hoping some of you can reccomend some ...

i had 2 lanzar subs in my car as my first subs and i was perfectly happy with them for a year till one died. it was used when i got it but i got it piss cheap

i totally understand where they managed to get the logic to set it as it is (95) but have seen enough to realise that it isnt suitable. personally i think the limit is totally ridiculous,
after having sound tests done i know that the closing of car doors can reach 120db. so many stock exhaust ...

for what its worth, my 2 cents
i have racepro fibreglass buckets and they are sweet as, really comfortable and not so bad on a long drive either, fixed them to the factory rails and thus didnt have any issues with the seatbelt mount.

well more amps to come, probably 4 T1001BD amps in the final setup for just the subs as well as others to run thje rest of the speakers. its just going to come together slowly. i m still looking at DD stuff but dont like the look as much but still a possibiluity

the plan is for SPL and aesthestics.
i know its a small car and its more than most have in larger cars but i like my car and like sounds so im making it work.

other speakers are a pair of sony 6X9 and pair of Sony 6.5 coaxials
all to be replaced soon

looking at the rockford T212D4 subs to go in or the equivalent DD sub if price is right.
thing is you have to remember as well is that all this is going into an MR2

how would i wire it up though?

the amp i had died so need a new one. entire system is getting an overhaul to match the new amp but for now its just a new amp. then new subs and another amp to go with them and the rest to follow

intrigued as to how that makes a difference but ok
