It makes a diffrence because diffrent subs have diffrent ohm coils. Yes that will work fine. Bit of a wast of a good amp with those subs tho.

1. Swap lanzar for RE/DD. 1 DVC DD will kill two lanzars hands down, something like a 3510.

2. If your gonna use the two lanzars wire them in parallel to the amp 8) The amp should be good for 1 ohm so no problems.

Get a pioneer tsw305c or along that lines those are good subs

You can get some cheap rockford fosgate punch subs that go hard or even a sony xlpod sub from repco

Not suggesting he get into SPL, a DVC will sound omg loads better than SVC, better cone control, response, etc not to mention it'll take up less room.

DD's are cheap anyway, i sold my dd2010a in an ABC box for $150. My mate can get brand new RE for $200.

DVC wont make an ounce of difference to how it sounds compared to the SVC version of the same woofer. All it will do will give dfferent loading options

I would have to disagree considering i've run dd2010's, dd3510's and dd2510's. The 3510 had a much more defind note, especially at the lower frequencys. You could definatly tell the DVC was better.

All 3 of those subs have very similar qts, qms, qes, fs, etc, etc

Anyway in your space precious mr2 you'll probably only want 1 sub anyway, unless your going to asthetics or spl.

I strongly recommend dd, but have heard good things about re too.

You could just run them in series, amp doesn't have to work very hard and you'll have a harder time killing them.

What other amps/speakers are you using?

If you've seen a woofers excursion at high volume you'll know what kind of things you're timpanic membrane is gonna have to put up with when the sub is right beside/behind you! Not to mention the pounding your kidneys and liver will take.

I personally think you're over endowing the car with that amp, unless you're very judicous, the potential for damage is very high.

If your going spl your gonna need a WAY bigger amp. Did you meet scooby at aut? hes got an awsome setup with 2 9510's and 2 strapped 1000d's/3000d's (cant remember) netting 140db 8) Really good bang for buck and thats in his wagon too

where are you going to put all the amps?
I would look at 2, 4 ohm dvc subs(whatever brand/size takes your fancy but preferably not new lanzar!) and class d mono block to power them. (if your amp is 1 ohm stable go with that.) I wouldnt go with dd in an mr2 as they require huge ported enclosures (3 cu.ft ported is not uncommon)

then get one really good set of front components (2 way tweeter and woofer or 3 way woofer, mid and tweeter) of any brand (preferably mid to high level eg $400+) and bridge a 4 channel amp into them. Or get a 2 channel amp with 200 watts per channel or so.

A setup like this should get you high 130-low 140 db scores and, if you turn the subs down, good sq as well.
Brands are up to you go with what you like.
Just my opinion though, its your car.

If you want something that looks the business and will go well go RE they make great looking subs that also hold world records beside DD. Id go for one 3000D E-Audio amp maybe two this thing will put out over 3kw and can be loaded down to .5ohm. Then go for two SX or higher spec model if your budget will let you 10 or 12inch subs. You can have the coils changed to suit your needs if you were to buy two amps.

Costs abouts

3000D = $2500.00 or two for abouyt $4500.00
RE SX = $800.00
Yellow top optima = $400
0 gauge cable = $300

I would also suggest in buying some aero ports for your box as i gained over 3db using these in my setup.

Dynamat Extream (sound deading) = $600

Note. all these prices are rough estimates.

Hope this helps.

And when you have spent all this money making you car loud you must get a good alarm, try and make everything stealth and this is the best defence.

How the hell did a "How do I wire up my two subs to my amp" thread turn into a "Buy this instead" thread??
