Its been like this for years. And I agree, not everyone turns up to every meet. But if there ARENT any meets, people cant turn up, and also if there is no regular activity people arent going to keep an eye on the board to look for or expect meets.
New potential members wont keep coming back to a "club" that has no activity, hence why its really only the old skool members that turn up.
I'll use mega meet as an example. It was a huge failure due to the lack of local support. Sure, people said they would help organise things for the actual event, but when they were asked to organise monthly meets to bring interest to the club before the event, nothing happened (well one)
Ts chch used to be huge. We used to have meets every thursday night, and one sunday meet a month. Every thursday had a minimum of 12 cars for a LONG time. We used to regularly have one complete side of Harvey norman packed out. Yep, not everyone turned up each week, but most people would turn up usually once a fortnight etc.
A club is only successful if it has 2 major things,
---the biggest and most important is support from members (including the organisers)
---the next is regular activity.
As I said above, if theres nothing worth checking on here, why would people check to see if there is somehting happening?
If people come back time and time again and see the same thing, they will very quickly stop coming back at all.
It all comes down to dedication.
Dedication by all, or ts chch will become even less than it already is.
