Four heads, Four cylinder barrels, custom bottom end with 2 crankshafts.
in the latest racecar engineering there is a v8 that's based on two 1000cc I4 yamaha engines (probably the same one as above) with a custom crankcase. Only weighs 70kg and makes up to 400hp from the 2.4L version
Yes, it's made by the same people, was published in Racecar Engineering last year (damned useful magazine).
If you really wanted to go all out you could probably string a couple of the 3 litre Hayabusa based V8's together, wouldn't be that much bigger. Mind you, just one of those with a couple of turbos should be good for 1000HP+ and a lot easier to fit
