Ideas for turbo car.

Postby DXIN » Mon Jan 16, 2006 2:12 pm

Geeday guys,

Im just after some ideas for a 80's/90's car which is easily modded, and possibly either turbo or an easy conversion to turbo.

Something like cressida, skyline..

Id prefer a big luxury sedan.

CHEERS!!!

what do you plan on doing with it?

ceffys make good "cruisers / skid cars", drift well obviously too, or do you just want a turbo so it goes WAAAAAZZZIPSHAIDFJSDIOAFJSFSJSSSSSSSNEEEZZZZZZEEEEEE

Yeah funny that, they're a big car, but reasonably small inside. Super comfortable though, I've done the exhaust and filter on mine, its' pretty fast, hangs the arse out easily when asked.. and trust me, it does skids!

Only downsides are the cost to run it fuelwise (although, it isn't as bad as you'd think, its uses about as much, if not a tad more gas than my RB20E Cefiro did, oddly enough?) and its' downright dangerous/fun to drive in the wet!

And parts are EVERYWHERE! And cheap! I got my Cef cheap, but I had to drive for hours to get it! I totally recommend them, or if you can't find one, an R32. I don't see why'd you choose a rusty old R31, when for a few more bucks you could get a Cef, Laurel or GTSt.. :?

agreed, dont get me wrong i love laurels and cef's and newer skidders, but im really after a semi oldschool car, ideally i want an R31, dump it out, rb20det, tints, boost guage, dirty front mount.. it'd be the shit. and not too many around.

i have a friend who has fitted an rb20det into a tidy black r30 coupe, with a large turbo,i/c,ecu,r32 gtst gbox etc. to do something like that properly the budgets always ends up stretching out to 2 or 3 times what you originally intended.
tints, a boost gauge a "dirty" front mount and "dumping it out" as you so classily put it should hardly be your priority.. as it seems you are aiming to get a car on a limited budget it might be best you look for an r32 gtst , or a cefiro and pick one up for about 4g if you hunt around.

Jap import GX61 dude.... you know you wanna.

Far more style than an R31, especially if you can score a pillarless Corona Mark II.... we went and checked one out a while back, real tidy, all for $500!!!!!!
