Really? I've found that my AW is really controllable if the rear goes out in the wet. More than my SW.
Like if I were to pull out of a driveway/intersection in the wet, turning 90 degrees, and gave it a bit too much gas, the AW tends to push out smoothly, whereas the SW tends to snap out.

That said, the Dunlops on my AW are FAR superior to the GT Radials on my SW. Oh how young and nieve I was when I bought those damn GT Radials...

911 has been MR for a few years now.

959 is definitly a supercar.

sw20 = GHEY

aww11 for life :twisted:

if you have half a clue about driving they are not as "spinny" as ppl say.

if you have issues spinning, then either you have a major problem, or you need to learn how to drive.

and yes tyres make a huge differene, as they do to any car

since they went to the water cooled engine. engine is now far enough forward that the majority of it is infront of the wheel centre line.

also the cayman uses the same drive train layout :wink:

Agreed with the mr2. Ive driven a few mr2's (prolly about 24 hours in them in total?) And never had one spin. If your relatively safe and dont accelerate into corners youll be sweet. I guarantee more people write off their skylines in the wet than mr2s

yes but there are more skylines driven hard than mr2s :P

How exactly? The engine itself has to be behind the gearbox which has to be in line with the driving axles doesn't it? Maybe I'm too tired and missing something completely obvious. For the engine to be in front of the drive axles it would seem that the gearbox would have to go under the engine which kinda of defeats the point of using the flat 6 for the lower centre of gravity.

EDIT- This is the sort of pic I was looking for before. Pretty much the engine must be rear mounted for this setup to work. Its like trying to call a Subaru mid engined ;)

I dont think the SW20 has much personality at all.

Compared to the likes of a KP... now THAT has personality. :D

MR2 is just grip grip grip, boring boring boring.

In something like a KP, you feel like a race car driver when you're going 45 kph. :lol:

If you want to drive fast, then an MR2 is awesome.

For me personally it's great for hauling ass out to the beach and back, which is the whole reason I got one basically.

I think it has higher grip levels than most cars, which makes it less fun.

Other cars with lower grip levels, have more of a 'buffer' beyond their grip level.

So more tire squeeling, more understeer, more oversteer, more everything that makes a car fun to drive when you're giving it a bit of stick IMO, even if it's slower.

Rather than having heaps of understeer, oversteer, wheel spin, etc
an MR2 just has a butt load of grip, up until the point where you've got to be going license losingly fast to get it to do any of that.

I was driving a 1300cc mirage last night that was more fun than my SW20, simply because it was scary trying to keep it on the road at 70kph, haha. :D
