Link G1 map sensor

Postby Vertigo » Wed May 16, 2012 3:42 pm

Sup. Looks like Im acquiring a G1 Link for my 4AGTE.

Do I need an external map sensor (guessing they dont come with one built in)? Where can I get these?
Any other sensors that Ill need? Air temp?
The knock sensor and water temp sensor from my current 4AGE should work ok?
Im going to be running 440cc 3SGTE injectors through 4r7 resistors. Anything I should know here?

Ill be wiring it all myself, and hoping it goes ok. Anything else I should consider?

my g1 v5 had a built in map sensor. earlier models may not tho

an air inlet temp sensor can be used (is better to have) but is not necessary, the best one to use is a Bosch Porsche turbo temp sensor, about $120 iirc

water temp will be ok, they dont run knock sensors from memory, only the G4s do.

probably be better to run MAP and TPS enrichment too, i didnt have TPS hooked up and tuner said it would be better with it.

There ard quite a few different trigger combination around for the early G1 links.

I take it that it has a 4AGE sub board in it,
but there is a couple of different ways that the triggers are wired depending on the board.

Thought the V3 was laptop viewable, but not changable. Wasn't the V5 the only one laptop tunable? (It's been many years since I've been inflicted by the V1)
I have a hand controller if you so need one.

V4 is also laptop tuneable, its like the V5's poor cousin, has less stuff and only maps to 8000rpm vs 10000 on the V5.

No V3 was the last of the hand remote only ECU's,
but a lot of them were upgaded with firmware to V5 specs.
