Toyspeed virtual drag race competition. *CLOSED FOR NOW*

Postby RomanV » Tue Oct 25, 2005 1:03 am

UPDATE: Sorry guys, I dont have time to run any more cars at the moment, so the hall of virtual fame will stay as is, for now. 8) Dont worry, those of you who have posted, your cars will be run... eventually.

I have a program that simulates quarter mile times, as well as a lot of other things.

Since there have been a few threads about "Will car X beat car Y?" etc, I thought this might be an interesting way to find out.

Basically you input all of the necessary statistics about your car, and it uses this to estimate quarter mile times, etc.
It isnt 100% accurate obviously, but is within .1 or .2 of a second of reality. Which is SFA really, a good/bad driver will make that much difference.

What do you have to do to enter a car?
Quote the post below this one into a reply post, and fill it out.
At the end of the week, I will enter the submitted cars into the program, and post some results.

You should be able to get all the info you need from the following sites:
http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/toyota/
http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Pit/9975/dataBySubject/GasolineEngines.html
http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Pit/9975/dataBySubject/Gearboxes.html
http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Pit/9975/dataBySubject/Transaxles.html
If your car is modified from standard, then you are obviously going to have to input revised numbers. However dont put in 200hp because you have a pod filter on your mums 4AFE

EDIT: Ive decided to keep the results on the first post, for easy reference. As below.

I'd love to do this, but I don't have enough info on the following items...

Weight Distribution: *edit* Managed to get that, the RunX is 55/45 F/R

Drag Co-efficient: It is a standard Corolla(2001) shape but try finding the info...

So, if anyone can help me get these details, I'll more than happily enter.
oh, car details in the link in the sig.

Well I can just guesstimate these things, I have a fairly good idea of what they would be.
Weight distro is usually around the 60:40 mark for a front runner, and the CD would be around .3xx for a modern car.

So just fill out as much as you can, I'll sort it out. 8)
