My mates starlet done a 16.5 on pump gas.

I think that was a damn good effort.

Highly messed with engine 4k block sitting in a kp60 bug eye.
2 35 mm dellorto carbs. 8500 rev limit.

1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time

Great thing about K series is you can stick something like a T25 on it, and it makes the turbo look like a T77 or GT51R :D
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

T77??

14.5 is fair hauling on a 4k - that'd be hilarous fun. Whats the fastest time a NA 4AGE Corolla has done in NZ? :P

Can you imagine lining up next to a DA6 or AE101 20v, and beating them in a 4K powered Starlet?

I would go as far to say that a 13 N/A is definately possible if the people in the know cared about drag racing. i.e Sheldon from Club-K had a 14.55 second Group A 4K that still runs a standard carb....If he was to build an all out motor with sidies in a starlet and put it on a drag strip. Instant 13's.

To put it in perspective. Brad (16valvestyle) who is now in japan had a stripped starlet, with literially nothing more than a rebuilt bluetop, reground cams and 40mm carbs, locked diff. And he ran 13.7 all day long at meremere. Theres no reason why an all out K series cant match that power.

Also on another note, in aussie theres a chick with a KE10 that has a Turbo 5K with 156kw ATW @ 24psi, pretty sure it ran a 12 or close to it.

yeah my car ran 13.7s as jebus said, pretty much stock 4age just a few important mods and gut the hell out of the car, im sure you could get a k series to run 14s even 13s but for the coin youd have a 4age running alot quiker, a K series that quick would be awesome though!! would need some big rpm

the mighty wee 4K is now in peices.
Was running 245 psi compression at cranking speed.
It got a mouth full of water. Bent all 4 rods broke center main cap.
Suspected twisted crank.
Cracked piston & Scored the bore badly.

The starlet will now get a 4AGE.

As for the good 4k parts im not sure wht he will do with them.
