It won’t matter really which car you bring as they aren’t too different really. It’s not like you have a corolla and a new Evo for me to contend with for groups.
There are basic safety checks to make sure you have a WOF, your tyres aren’t bald, your battery isn’t tied down with rope, you have all your wheel nuts. Stuff like that. The safety is really up to you to consider as it’s your life in danger, your passenger and if you hit another car, your pocket the repairs are coming out of..
