All going to plan there will be around 6 runs of about 10-15. It will depend on numbers attending. With the size of the track there will be around four groups so you should be out at least once an hour. If that is the case you will have 7 runs. However in saying that every track day I have ever run ends up getting thin in numbers mid afternoon and people get to go out for 15-20min runs (even more). You will be up for plenty of time as I like to think were there to get as must track time as possible. There won’t be a lunch break, we'll be on the track from 9am - 4pm and there will be a continuous flow of cars. In the past there has been more than enough track time to please even the most 'difficult' of entrants :)

Hey Chelles, I'd like to enter but not sure which car I will be bringing, it depends if current job on the intended car is sorted.

That doesn't matter does it or will it effect the grouping? i.e. one 'should' have quite a bit more go than the other.

Will there be scrutineering?

I'm keen to come to my first track day. Where can I buy a cheap (but good) helmet from?

my boss doesn't get back from a training course until Monday next week. Can I fill in the form and pay on Monday? If my boss won't give me leave i'll have to pull out.

How much is your head worth? Go to a bike shop (motorbike obviously, mountain bike ones might not comply ) and have a look around.

I hear ya. was just interested in a rough indication of the cost for a basic closed face helmet. $60? $100? $200?

It won’t matter really which car you bring as they aren’t too different really. It’s not like you have a corolla and a new Evo for me to contend with for groups. :)

There are basic safety checks to make sure you have a WOF, your tyres aren’t bald, your battery isn’t tied down with rope, you have all your wheel nuts. Stuff like that. The safety is really up to you to consider as it’s your life in danger, your passenger and if you hit another car, your pocket the repairs are coming out of..

Excellent! Love it when new people turn up. Good to see people are keen to come and play and hopefully learn something about themselves and their car.

I’ll pop you on the list and hold a spot for you if you like. That will give you time to convince your boss for the time off.

The helmet I use is a FFM motor bike helmet and it cost me $199. :)

Thanks Chelles, I've filled out the form and will DD the money as soon as I know I can have the day off work. Should be by the end of the day, so could you please put me down on the 'list'.

re: scrutineering, my car is perfectly legal wof-wise but I just don't know if my fire extinguisher bolts are right and if the battery box in the boot has sufficient bracing. I think I will modify this before the day though.

EDIT: 10th and 11th off work! I've just transferred the money online so should be in your account tomorrow 8)

As long as the battery is held in by something metal that would resemble a similar fashion to the standard or a battery box, then it'll be find. As for the fire extinguisher, my only concern is that if you crash it's not going to become a projectile and do you damage.

We'll see ya there :D

No, not compulsory at all. However I agree with Leon there, even though I have mine sitting in the shed. Wont put out much from there I’m sure…

Remember kids you are driving your cars a little harder than usual. Anything can happy out there!
