Totally disagree have spent 17 years loading my vans with tons of carpet, diesel vans do not go aswell with a load on you get to a hill and you have to keep chopping down gears as your speed drops. As a comparrison my old van 2.4 petrol vs mates old van 2.8 diesel both loaded coming up the bombay hill his speed drops from 110 down to 80 km with foot flat down where as petrol gains speed going up the hill. And the new vans 3 litre turbo diesel barely any difference in torque to the 2.7 vvtisergei wrote:Diesel actually drive nicer than petrols in my opinion. They don't notice that the extra load for some reason even if the hiace is loaded until it is on bump stops, try that with petrol and it would just bog down.

I am part of those sales figures, so yes for years we have had it drummed into us that diesel is better more torque bla bla bla bla So they should have more torque 9 times out of ten they have a much larger cubic capacity , and for years diesel was more economical but now days just not the caseMr Revhead wrote:pity the sales figures for the last 20 odd years disagree with you

european diesel yes not the jap stuff, i am not talking about the dirty jap import 2 litre petrol engines they are a pos. The engines that are in the the price range of this topic, are your 2.8 diesel and your 2.4 petrol Each to there own i quess no one can win this arguement.Lloyd wrote:lol, these days where diesel technology is taking over petrol?
Which particular engines are you comparing?
