the amazing thing with it is it has a very flat torque curve thru the 3-10K rev range

they also have 200cc of displacement and 10 years of technology on their side... but yeah totally..... what a stupid 4age...... nothing to be impressed about there :P

Absolutely, was just pointing out it was obviously a very angry non-variable cam timing smaller displacement motor of some sort - the dyno plot is all over the show at lower revs, like something with some crazy dynamic compression behaviour at low revs haha.

Nothing short of impressive, back in those days the Formula Atlantic motors were things of legend amongst me and my mates who paid attention to such details. Not really much good for more than novelty these days though.

Pulling 10,000 RPM is more than just a novelty, It's a lifestyle :D

I would say that the sound that engine most likely makes is MUCH better than a novelty
