Regardless of the media speculation, I would be very shocked if Kimi signed for Williams, just for the simple fact he lost interest in F1 very quickly when he didnt have a competitive ride.
Why would he want to join Williams, only to be a Guaranteed a backmarker car?Fighting with lotus, hrt, virgin et al, wont keep him keen very long.
He would spend no time with the engineers to help develop the car (something Barrichello is reknowned for) and Maldonado doesnt have enough experience yet to drive the team in the right direction.
I would like to see him back in the sport as I like him, but I have to say his work ethic is not that of a top tier F1 driver. Even though he is a "world champion" Alonso and Hamilton lost it, more so than Kimi won it so I just dont think he can come back after 2 years with the amount of effort he is willing to put in, and expect to win again.
Obviously Williams are in the horrible position now of having to choose drivers based on how much cash they can inject into the team, and theres no doubt Kimi would attract some much needed sponsorship, but is he the right man for the job?? I dont think so
Anywaaaaays.....1 hour until FP1 at one of the last remaining great tracks on the calendar.
