In 07 Hamiltons 1st season it was a battle royal between Ferrari and Mclaren and for Raikkonen to comeback from 20 odd points behind to win the championship to me is the last time Ferrai showed there that they were upto it 08 inconsistent though Massa got within a point still inconsistency reined as Raikkonen had a shocker of a season and 09 10 and now 11 there still nowhere in my eyes fundementally to ferrari have'nt had the speed out right for at least 3 seasons on a consistent basis.

Cmon, Singapore is always good for a laugh for Crash Bandicoot (or whatever his cute nickname is) fans.
Love how the Brits have absolutely convinced themselves that Massa slammed the Fazza it reverse and rammed Hamilton out of the race and then brutally assaulted him ( oh the humanity ) in the Post race press huddle.

I don't really see what all the fuss is about that incident. It was a minor touch of the type that happens all the time.

I like how Coulthard and Brundle were pulling Sh*t from the clouds saying how much time Button was pulling out of Vettel over the last 10 laps or so and how much he was gaining when Vettel went through the lapped traffic c'mon guys was the race that boring I'm pretty sure though he was doing the above Vettel had things well in hand.

Hamilton 5 times in the pits heaven know's where he may have ended up 2-3 less trips to the pits.

yeah the whole thing was a storm in a tea cup really, and when Massa gave hammy a tap on the shoulder in the media scrum, that was all the journo's needed to enflame things further.

Massa has said on the record that hes over it, but the press will keep it going until Korea, no doubt about that.

You mean F1 in general? ;)
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

I hope not ;)

I dont envy his position at all, and think it would be great to see him get the upper hand over the sulking spaniard.

But with only 1 more year to do it, before Ferrari bring in Perez or Bianchii, its a tall order.

Regardless, I just pray that when they do replace him, that the new incumbent does the same thing to Alonso as Hammy did on 07. If there is one thing he cant cope with, its being beaten, and it ruins his form without a doubt.

Oh the fireworks that will ensue ;)

I like Perez alot he has shown he is one of the up n comers.

I also like the look of Paul Diresta also.

I think the Smokey for the 2nd Ferrari seat in 2 seasons will be Robert Kubica everyone seems to have forgotten this guy if he can regain full health he's as good as anyone on the grid in the right car.

No doubting Di Resta's pedigree, but he has only scored five times this year.

I shouldnt say "only" though, as its still a very proud achievement, not to mention he is leading the rookie points race.

Regarding Ricciardo, he has used this opportunity well, and has certainly raised his stocks as a result. Atleast we will have another convict to cheer for if Webber retires in a couple of years.

Kimi to Williams and Rubens out on his ear, or possibly to Renault if Kubica can't make it?
Interesting... Kimi had a minor crash in a touring stage at Rally France and hoped a plane home straight away. Even though his car was easily repairable... Losing interest maybe?

Is that confirmed now?
Mixed feelings if it is, Kimi is my fav driver, but TBH, dont really wanna see him back pottering around at the back of the field.

Unless, hes eyeing up the Red Bull seat in 2013, and the only way they would consider him is if he had a year back to prove hes still got it.

No it's one of those persistant rumours. Rumour enough that Rubens felt compelled to comment that it would be a mistake for Williams to drop him.

Ahh yes just read that. Wouldnt be sad to see Barrichello go, Trulli is another who would be good to see the back of, open there seat for soemone new to come along.

What a weekend coming up though, F1 all weekend at good time slots, Bathurst on Sunday, and I konw I will probably be shot for saying it on Toyspeed, but the Rugby quarter finals. Have beer/snack's and couch all ready!

Don't like it Raikkonen is a waste at Williams I just don't see them 1. giving him a competitive car and 2. ponying up the cash he'll be wanting.

I like Raikkonen alot but I really think Williams isn't the team for him.Last time I heard he has lost interest in rallying the main reason being he isn't going door to door with anyone hence why he gave Nascar trucks a go and even though he was well down the field I think he enjoyed the fact that he was actually racing in traffic again.

Also I think he was ponying up the cash to run in rallying also so another reason for his disinterest as he was only running outside of the top 10 anyways maybe it might have been different if he was running near the front but who know's with Kimi.

Thinking about it a bit more, Kimi going to Williams could be a huge finincial bost for the team, having a World Champion driver brings in sponsers, even if he has a high salary, the potential dollars he could bring in form sponsers wanting to get there name associated with a World Champion could still work out in Williams favour.

I'm sure he wouldnt be getting anywhere near what he used to get paid, but if he can bring in a big name sponser, Williams win at the end of the day. The money a big name sponser brings, offsets Kimi salary, plus they get tons of publicity as it would be one of the biggest talking points for the next year or so. So win win for Williams and teh sponser...........Even if its a disaster and rubbish results, still tons of publicity, especially seeing as Kimi is one of the most liked drivers out there.

Regardless of the media speculation, I would be very shocked if Kimi signed for Williams, just for the simple fact he lost interest in F1 very quickly when he didnt have a competitive ride.

Why would he want to join Williams, only to be a Guaranteed a backmarker car?Fighting with lotus, hrt, virgin et al, wont keep him keen very long.

He would spend no time with the engineers to help develop the car (something Barrichello is reknowned for) and Maldonado doesnt have enough experience yet to drive the team in the right direction.

I would like to see him back in the sport as I like him, but I have to say his work ethic is not that of a top tier F1 driver. Even though he is a "world champion" Alonso and Hamilton lost it, more so than Kimi won it so I just dont think he can come back after 2 years with the amount of effort he is willing to put in, and expect to win again.

Obviously Williams are in the horrible position now of having to choose drivers based on how much cash they can inject into the team, and theres no doubt Kimi would attract some much needed sponsorship, but is he the right man for the job?? I dont think so

Anywaaaaays.....1 hour until FP1 at one of the last remaining great tracks on the calendar.

Go Schuey :)

Yep thats my exact read on Kimi also I think Williams are'nt what they were and I'd hate to see someone like Raikkonen one of the most naturally gifted drivers to drive an F-1 car getting lapped or just being a lapper I just don't see how this is going to keep his interest for that long.

Saw a great article with overlayed data with Raikkonen 07 v Schumacher in his prime the engineer Chris Dyer was saying they were gobsmacked with what Raikkonen does under brakes and on intial turn in speeds said were alot higher than Schumi.
