Link Group Buy Closing this Friday...

Postby mister2 » Sun Jan 21, 2007 11:18 pm

Traffic to the group buy thread appears to have stalled, so just to keep people aware if they're after a Link ECU now is the time!

Basically the deal is that you get free shipping and either a free air temp sensor (required in most installations, $120) or a free boost control solenoid ($150) with every ECU purchased.

Details here

Mods feel free to moderate this, I am just trying to make sure people do not miss out on this deal!

Cheers

is the standard air temp sensor fitted on the ae86 4age inlet manifolds suitable for this? or are your sensors "special"? :P

Not sure i'm 100% correct, But the AE86 Inlet temp sensor I tried would not work.
I had to buy a special Bosch Air temp Sensor.

how old was the link though? is it possible it wasn't compatible with the link if it was an older version? my understanding is some sensors aren't compatible with the older links, but this is not as common with new links.

mister2
The only real thing which can ad to the cost is extra sensors & changing things like sensors, ignitors, coils etc for units compatible with the Link ecu although this is being less common. The only sensors we generally change are Throttle position sensors, from a switch type to a variable rsistro scaling type, mainly so you get a percentage throttle opening rather than open or closed. The only extra sensor we sometimes fit is an inlet air temperature sender, mainly for turbo stuff,

Was an older version but a Linkplus, so not too old.

That's me. Had to fit that.
I dont know, the new stuff may use the Toyota Temp Sensor,

Guess we will have to wait for mister2 to answer that one.

Basically... it depends :D

We sell NA and Turbo sensors - there is a difference. If your engine is NA and you've turbo'd it (ie, like all 4AGTE's out there) you really want to go to a Turbo sensor - they are faster responding, like in under a second compared to 10 sec's for an NA one, which is required for boosted applications where the temps change rapidly.

HOWEVER, you can configure a (G2/G3) Link to accept any sensor. All you need to do is stick it in a jug with a thermometer and measure the resistance as the temp rises (say every 10* from 10* to 100*), then enter this into the table in PCLink.

We generally are selling inlet air temp sensors with ECU's because the majority of people are putting them on air flow metered cars, where the air temp sensor is built into the AFM which they then remove.

Hope that helps.
