If you pull the boot seal off you will probably find a shitload of rust.

yeah, first thing ya do when u get an AE82-fix the rust&leaks!!

boot- above the "FX" there should be a hole to fix, and take the rubber strip off that goes around the whole boot, fix rust, paint up and apply GREASE on it before u put it back on, this keeps the water off from fusting further and keeps it water tight.
and it the boots rusting, fix the tyre well while your their, and your front firewall on the inside may be rusting aswell, this is a litte more tricky to fix.

Yeah there's a bit of rust above the "FX". Just below to rubber seal around the back windscreen. So it's the that problem? Do I need to get the back windscreen resealed? or something. Cost?
Thanks for your help mate.

Also check your "a pillars", below where your accelerator foot sits (and the same place on the passanger side), below the tail lights etc

there is no re-sealing to do as the rear windo "pops" outr, its just encased with the rubber you can see. all u nee to do once the window is out is to grind back the rust till itas gone, then apply rust converter/primer to it, then put on some polyester filla (aka bog) then either paint the whole boot or touch it up, i welded a small plate on mine then boged over that, and resprayed teh whole boot, no cost for me as my stepfather did all the work while i was away.

yeah as caos ad saitr, the a-pillar goes as well top and bottom.
