i think its rteally only important to watch oil, and water levels...

making sure you keep a close eye on them.

if you only have done a HG then it should be fine to give it a bit of WOT and revs.

yeah, its getting a quick oil change at 2500kms.

i'll check the water, but it shouldn't go down anymore since it was leaking through the head gasket before, new thermostat too, i cant beleive how quickly it warms up!!

only reason i cant wait till 1000kms is that i live in the city, and i dont drive that far!!! well off to parlmy on saturday, so that will be my run in time,

as long as its been done properly,

it will be sweet there is no reason to run it in as such,
it will either be sealed or not, if it blows theres something wrong

the general rule is that for the 1st 1000km's you use plain water in the radiator, because coolant is thinner and it leaks thru the new seal preventing it from sealing. After 1000km's you just drain the system and chuck in coolant.

If new rings etc have been put in, then yes, its needs to be run in, but a new head gasket?? I dont think Ive ever heard of that, we certainly dont tell our customers that and the engines we work on go under much much more load than yours ever will.

I raced my old AW11 at taupo a few days after putting the engine back in after replacing all the gaskets on the engine inc head gasket, clutch etc and didn't have any probs with it for the next 5 months until I sold it.

well that explains why there is isnt much coolant in the radiator. mainly water.

it should be sweet, better safe than sorry eh?

how much do a throttle position sensor go for second hand?? mine doesnt spring back.

Go to pick a part and pick yourself a throttle position sensor :D
Should have one there off a 4AG if not, then one off another toyota might work.
