Rust - look round the spare tyre and below the tail lights.

If you're looking at one the first thing to look for is bubbles in the radiator while its running and/or milky stuff in the oil filler cap. If it has either of those walk away or prepare to spend big $$$ unless you can repair a blow head gasket yourself.

join the mailing list at www.supras.org.nz
the ma70 comes with either a 3l n/a or 3/ single turbo engine.
both have 24 valves and have dohc.
they weigh about 1580 standard and power otuput for the 7mgte is roughly 230-260hp

if you have any specific questions, feel free to pm me

the *a70 supras came with a 1g-ge, 1g-gte, 7m-ge, 7m-gte, and a 1jz-gte

the turboed 7m-gte is about 230hp and the 1jz is about 280hp.

the 7m can factory run up to 300hp with no mods other than sorting the HG (as they have a problem from factory of blowing HGs due to bad torque levels from factory) and uping the boost. with an aftermarket turbo, and suitable boost control, the 7m can comfortably take 400hp.

the 1jz can run factory up to about 350-400hp with upped boost. any more than that, and you need to change the turbo's as they are not up to the extra power due to their small size. replace the turbo's, get past boost cut, and normal breathing mods, and 500hp is easy on stock internals. 1jz does not need internal work unless your trying to aim for over 700hp, and even then, not really that big a deal.

the 7m motors were available right through production of the *a70 supras, but the 1jz's were only available from 1990 till 1992.
