urgent - misfiring? sounds liek a wrx st205

well,y 205 sounds like a darn wrx..u know the sound where you can hear the individual ripple of osund

my car usually has a synchrosous hummmm, but recently int he last week or so, when i start it ...first of all, it has trouble starting, like it tries but then halfway the starting it just stops, i try a few times and it works...then when it does, sometimes it sounds like a wrx with a loud exhaust, the engine kinda shudders, i cant accelerate properly or boost properly (i dont try cos i dont wanna F@ck it) but yeah, then after driving around for a lil bit, whent he engine becomes warm, it becomes normal as if nothing is happening........

i took it to toyota once and they listen ed to it and he said it was missing.....and then right efore i left toyota it became normal hence the pattern of when the engine warms up...

now? anyone tell me what this could be, i mean the toyota mechanic obviously knows but wanna be sure

check spark plugs, leads, and dissy cap, check if water is in spark plugs area, or in dissy, and if everything is ok, check for ECU error codes...

Check your leads, they should have the year of manufacture stamped on them, if they are the same year as the manufactures date of your car then change them along with the distributor cap and rotor, may as well do your plugs at the same time, and as the other guys have said check your ecu error codes too and if you don't know how to do that then search the database as it's been covered numerous times.

I don't understand what you are trying to say, are you implying that you have an aftermarket computer? or are you too lazy to search the forum on the correct way of extracting the ecu error codes from your stock ecu? because if so you don't need anything other than a paper clip.

Possibly a temp sensor, but toyota temp sensors are normally quite reliable. ( as compared to other brands)

It definatley sounds like it's running on 3, so temp sensor is unlikely. TRDmod, it sounds like you dont have much in the way of knowledge with cars, perhaps you should take it to your mechanic. It's almost definately going to be an ignition problem, they should be able to isolate it pretty quickly.

If you really want to do it yourself, first try some different leads. That seems like the most obvious answer - if that doesnt help, keep working backwards through your ignition system.

i know this sounds stupid but just make sure all your plugs are in properly and that your leads are all plugged in properly aswell,make clean out your dizzy cap if u know what your doing.
