Postby Liloss » Sun Apr 24, 2005 10:48 pm

looking at putting a 2vz-fe into a st183 celica. just wondering if the ABS is controlled by the ECU? and what other things could cause problems.

cheers

why not go for a 3vz? If you're going to go through the hassle of the engine transplant you'd might aswell get a 3L rather than a 2.5L
ABS is controlled by a seperate ECU, there may be problems with the exhaust on the rear bank of cylinders interfering with the steering rack (esp. if you have 4ws), but otherwise it should be a pretty simple conversion, I've heard of a few done in the states, any although generally moreso into MR2's than Celicas.
