7MGTE airflow meter upgrade

i heard a rumor that u upgrade ur 7m airflow meter with a 1uz (lexus V8) 1 and it extends the airflow peramters and fuel cuts later....correct? is it a direct swap or do the wires hafta b cut etc

I'm about 90% sure you need to accompany the lexus AFM with a set of 550cc/min injectors for the air/fuel ratios to stay where they should be. cutting wires is no big deal if it needs to be done

yeah i heard that about the injectors aswell im just getting sum ideas and sum knowlege for future experiments... :twisted:

changing to the lexus afm makes the comp read less air than is actually there, and raises the air flow "boost" cut. problem is, car then runs lean as it's fueling for less air than it's getting. replacing the injectors with the 550'c balances this out. the only gains from this is increase of boost cut a few psi and a larger afm body. the afm isn't the worst restriction in the intake path, so not really worth it just for that. if you can find another way around the boost cut, the injectors have still a lot of leeway in their duty cycle and how much fuel they can flow.
