Which CV?

Postby ee904age » Fri May 20, 2005 7:50 pm

How do I tell which CV is Dodgy? Both boots are split and the noise isnt loud enough to tell which side it is. It only clicks when turning right if that helps.....

Turning right would mean that the right hand CV is on more of an angle (the right wheel turning through a tighter circle) and that'll be the noisy one.

change the dodgey CV man, last thing you want is a CV sticking thru your firewall when your car's doing 100kph.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

Ok, just got back from doing the job.
HRT's theory added up so I took a chance and changed the R/H CV, but unfortunately its th L/H joint!!!

Sooo, for future reference, a click on R/H corners is the L/H CV.

Maybe they were both a bit buggered. You can usaully hear where its coming from anyway? Are you swapping them over or getting another new one?
