wanting to replace the $$% 4k carb on a 4k, was wondering wat is better to just bolt on twin carbies from a 3k-b or a single 4k carb? both fully standard.
Id go with the twin carbs from a 3KB!!!
Thats what ive got and i felt a decent difference across the whole rev range.
Not huge, but noticable.
Hope that helps, if others disagree, by all means correct me.

the hting with the twincarbs is you can actully be decreasing the carburation...
depending on how the manifold is set up, the enigne can only (mostly) suck from one throat at a time, and the twin carbs have smaller choke than the singles.
iv got the 3k-b's on the starly. They were running way beter than the 4k carb when i first bolted them up. Now they are running like crap an they are to much of a bastard to tune. If you want fuel economy and easy tuning keep the 4k single, if you want to be a bit quicker and are good at tuning get the twins
In my opinion, the 4k carb's the way to go....i've had about 4 sets of twins, and only one set of them ever went ok. Maybe if they were tuned properly it may be a different story?? Who knows
