ae111 BZR electrical problems... please help!

Postby Knob City » Tue Nov 29, 2005 10:17 am

hey all, well last week my electrics $&#$% out, I have no rev gauge, speedometer, indicators, heater, windows.
I do have the stereo though, which cuts out sometimes.
and my lights still work and so do my hazards.
its not a fuse problem as ive checked every fuse about 4 times, even tested each one with a new fuse.
thanks in advance.

nope factory stereo.

jump started the car, let it sit there for a while, went for a drive to charge the battery up and it started stuttering under any load what so ever, just got home at it sounded like a (censored) rotor lol.
felt like it was running out of gas, which it wasnt because i even went down and got some in a container and tried it all over again, it would idle for a bit then slowly die.

$&#$% sounds like a serious problem. ECU maybe?

I'll start unplugging fuses, cutting wires tomorrow and get back to you

Yeah right. I'd check all your earths and ur ECU. You'd think a fuse might of blown though.

as well as earths, also check relays and it could be worth getting the battery and alt checked also. being season change, its a typical time batteries begin to fail, and a non charging battery will cause some of those issues listed. I once had an alt $&#$% out and do very similar things whilst still not getting a warning light on the dash.
Cant believe im still a member here.

When an alternator plays up indicators are sometimes one of the first things that stop,
and since you have jump started it...

Get the charging checked.
