Couple of q's from a newbie Toyo owner...

Postby chingching » Mon Dec 25, 2006 11:43 am

Kia ora gang. Just a couple of q's.

1) Just bought a 2nd hand '88 Levin. On the dash I've just noticed an indicator that stays on that looks like an orange/yellow aerial view of a wire model car with the rear lights flashing. What da hell does that mean? (Didn't come with owner's manual).

2) Anybody know where I can pick up the 18R repair manual. Have tried searching web but no dice so far. Am working on an old ute I dug outta da boonies and it's got an 18RGU Celica motor with Mikuni/Solex carbies (from what I can make out).

Thanks for listening to the new guy babble on.

My Light does that at random.... i aggree its the tail lights but the only thing wrong with my tail lights that i can see is the high stop LED's in the spoiler... 25% dont work... maybe a bulb is causing an irregular voltage?

Most LED hi stops aren't included in tail light warnings. If all your lights are still going, then it's most likely a wrong wattage bulb, or corrosion in the socket (excluding monkied wiring etc)

1. chances are the filament in the taillight bulb above the exhaust has broken. very common.

2. havn't got an 18RG manual, but do have Mikuni /Solex inspection /rebuild information.
I've been a bad bad boy. I should read the rules and behave before I get spanked by an admin

Yeah fang, somebody else mentioned the same thing about the bulb itself so will look at it at some stage. But I'll definitely keep you in mind regarding the Mikunis once the ute gets closer to completion.
