Hey guys, ive got a set of SR20DET ITB's sitting at home, has anyone heard of them being mated to a 3s-ge?

i havent heard of them bein used however i reckon it could be a good idea how are they in comparison to 20v ones?

not 100% sure, i think ill measure them this weekend, might be interesting to find out, does anyone have any measurements of the 20v ones? also whos fitted the 20v ITB to a 3s?

I've fitted 20V throttle bodies to a 3S before, both gen1 & 2 engines, but then for me it's basically a bolt on as I've got all the manifold etc at my disposal unless space is an issue like on an mr2(or so I'm led to believe that my manifolds are too long). Do a search for the 20V TB sizes as they have been mentionsed before 42mm sounds familar, can't remember what the sr20 ones are but I've fitted them to a SR16 before.

That'd make them the same size as the Blacktop 20 Valve ones.

net sources say 20v silvertop are 43mm, blacktop 45mm and GTiR 45mm

You'll have to see how easy it'll be to make up a manifold to suit and then see if you can get the Toyota TPS on the GTiR quads too.

Manifold shouldn't be too difficult, but then I say that as I'm forever playing with manifolds to put this onto that & it's quite amazing how many other engines a st205 side draught manifold will actually fit ith a bit of cutting & filling.

You wo't necessarily need to fit the toyota tps, you'll just need a TPS that's the same style(either switch or variable resistor scaling type) & then you'll need to pick one which bolts onto your throttlebodies & rotates the right direction. The only last thing to worry about is output voltage & the plug/wirinbg it up, you'll more than likely find the nissan one would work with just a plug change especially if your running an aftermarket ecu of some kind.

Also, if you're car is MAP sensored, you might need a vacuum accumulator or chamber of sorts. Like the guys using silvertop 4AGEs with aftermarket MAP ecus, that vacuum is too erratic at idle when using the vacuum off a single runner.
