exhaust manifold heat + wires = ??

Postby AE82 FXGT » Thu Apr 26, 2007 7:41 pm

Hey all,

I'm thinking of getting some oil pressure and oil temp gauges.
Looks like the best way for me to set it up would be through an oil filter sandwich plate.
So that I can remove them if need be.

Only thing is as the oil filter on 4ages is right near the exhaust manifold, would I have big issues with the wires (as I plan running electrical gauges)?

Should be fine just as long as the wires are insulated well and are away from the exhaust. Your oil pressure sender should be right next the oil filter, well it is on the 4agze's so i'm guessing it'd be the same on a 4age.

Might just be an idea to get a reloacting kit and T off from there as you could eventually put in an oil cooler if you wanted.

a rangi cheap trick that works is to simply put insulation tape around the wires, then put some insulation tape around them upside down so its sticky then put some TINFOIL around it. works a treat
