head off 4age

what tool to i need to take the head off a 4age i can see 4 hex type but dont know wat size and is that the onlything holding the head down?

10mm socket from memory, maybe a 12.

10mm on a 16valve
looks like a star, so a normal 12 point socket.

yeah 16v are a normal bolt head
20v an internal socket thing
koken to the perfect part 8)

yep, 10mm hex socket. just pull the cams out then take those bolts off. you're supposed to do it in a particular order though. either from the middle outwards, or start at the outside and work your way in. just go thru and crack each bolt off, then undo them say 1/4 turn, then go through and loosen them all off a bit more, then fully off. that way it can prevent the head warping. not sure how common it is, but thats just waht I was told.
someone can confirm whether you start with the middle bolts or the outside ones though...?

i pulled one off for the first time a few weeks back and they're easy to take off, might just need to give it a bit of a pull to separate it from the block though...

try it with them still in, but you might find it a bit hard to get the socket down there...
