Levin BZG AE111 4age using oil

Hi I have a Levin BZG Ae111 4age blacktop.
I Have recently havin problem with it using oil
Is not smoking only a little wen hitting hi revs.
And its not leaking anywhere.

Last time i gave it a service in 2000k it has used almost all of its oil.
It just seems to be eating it.

I used shell ultra full synthetic. i an now at 10000k and its used all of another oil container 4L. The engine seems to be fine no probs there. I am just wondering if its not liking full synthetic oil should i change to semi. If so which brand would be the best.

What grade are you using?

They are well known for using oil, no matter what grade you use. My black top uses about 500ml per 1000k, so it is about the same as yours. I have found that magnatec gives me the best milage, where as mobil 1 was about 700ml per 1000k. Every body seems to recommend to keep the oil in the 20-40 20-50 range so it would seem, as long as it's not pouring smoke out the back, and fouling your oxy sensors, it cant be that bad.

I had this problem in my old one, Wasn't smoking or anything but was using about a litre a week

Turned out to be the oil control rings, Compression was fine but was getting blow by So I'm guessing yours is along the same lines, If you get the rings replaced and the Bores ok, put a new set of bearings in at the same time

Cost me all up including parts about $1500 for memory, may have been a bit cheaper but it was a while ago, Depends on condition of the engine, NBest to take it somewhere to get it assessed
