I've had this done on the back of my car, have a look at my project thread for some pics. If you need any specific photos PM me and I'll sort some out for you.

Good advice from Rev, no point in cutting shit up & then finding out you will be failed on it.

On a side note is this for one of the KE Corolla's ? If so my KE has pretty much had all of that done to it....could take a few pics as the front struts are currently off it.

heading out this weekend to work on it

Famous last words.....If it were changing a seat or steering wheel fair enough but cutting up suspension arms etc is utter stupidity.

Too bad for everyone else on the road

Not if it is done properly & under the advice of a certifier. Not everyone cuts corners when it comes to modifications

i think you misunderstood me. I do not plan on making my car unsafe.

as for cutting up suspension arms I have plenty spare so i reckon i can sacrifice a set

A little harsh but somewhat true. Instead of modifying the existing arms a better option would be to get steel tube with an ID to match the rose joint threaded end, cut them to length and tap the inside of the tube, I know that's how mine were done.

Not sure on what type of steel you're supposed to use but IMO steer clear of moly, the guy that made mine said if you go down that road you need to get the arms xrayed to check for cracks and things basically every year, and it's not worth the extra cost and hassle for the small amount of weight you save.

I would appreciate pics.

I got lots of ideas.

Be good to see what has been done.

I reckon this looks a little weak.

Here's a rough diagram of how mine are attached to the mounts on the subframe:
Image

Going from the pic in your post, the mounts on your car are basically the same at that end, the other end of the arm depends on how it attaches to the hub/whatever
