soarer max boost

hey guys just wana know if soarer with 1jzgte, with 3" exhaust front mount an intake on 98 octane fuel an two bottles of octane booster can handle 18psi for a couple of runs down the track......

I wouldnt bother with octane booster.

Run a petrol ethanol mix if you want to boost your octane, or a bit of avgas.

Octane booster damages O2 sensors and spark plugs. And hardly boosts octane at all, 98 is already full of octane boosters.

Are they not ceramic turbos on those things? Just go with water or water/meth injection

1. They boostcut at 14psi (if you don't have a fcd installed)
2. The ceramic turbines fall off at 14psi

The engine will happily take 18psi, but as far as the turbos themselves go, it will litterally be russian roulette.
You'll probably find that those tiny little compressors won't flow much more at 18psi than at 13 or 14 anyway - just heating the air some more!

My experience with my own soarer (and any other powerful rwd car) is that you'll be far, far faster down the strip if you concentrate on getting it off the line cleanly. A few mph down the deep end will make sfa difference to your time in comparison to your launch.

with custom dump pipes (best mod you could do on stock turbos) to get rid of the heat you could get away with 18psi if your turbos are in good nick. Check the shaft play most have heaps. Cressida forum guys have run 18psi for a couple years now no worries

17psi for bout a decade now, still going strong, custom 3" dumps done two years ago, helped a lot! if everything is stock, just bcd, i wouldn't bother with over 15psi, i ran a back to back dyno run with 16 and 20psi, and only gained i think 4-5rwkw? the 12a's just add too much heat above 16psi.

so with front mount intercooler the car will not see much gain boosting around 18ish psi

no, as john said, the turbos heat the air too much, heat kills power, it doesn't matter what intercooler you have, there is always a point where you can't cool the air enough for it to be useful. ct12a's are small and inefficient turbos, you're better off keeping the boost lower, prolonging turbo life, and practicing your driving to get better times.

a soarer in aussie is running mid 11s on stock turbos at 20 something psi saw it on their soarer forum an also saw a vid of his run on youtube heres the link http://youtube.com/watch?v=tc_7aRUGshw .....his making good power as well i think over 250wkw with bolt ons an stock turbos

i'm running about 240rwkw on stock turbo's, but have tried upping the boost and did not see enough of a gain to warrant the stress on everything. you have to remember when the air gets too hot going into the engine, detonation becomes an issue as well, so even if you dont care about the turbo's, it might take your engine with them! we custom made our dump pipes, so bit hard to find anything similar
