AE101 ECU Location

Postby big-ben-007 » Sat Sep 15, 2007 1:57 pm

Hey, Just a quick question, on my 91' ae101 levin gtz, where abouts is my ecu located??????

The reason I need to know is that my speedo has gone a-miss, rapidly flicking between 20-40kph no matter how fast im going above about 10 kph. Behind the actual speedo seems fine and there are no wires loose on the g-box, so im trying to find the problem before I have to spend some $$ for and auto-sparky

cheers for any responses

Just done diagnostic check and gives an "ok" code.

I had and alarm installed just recently by ashley audio, could this be the problem, with faulty workmanship etc. ??

Also now my Rev gauge had decided it now doesnt like me as well, I apparantly idle at 0 rpm and going 110kph its saying Im reving at 2500 rpm which is off by about 1000rpm, this is a problem that has just happened today . However the fuel, temp and volt gauges are all working perfectly, as well as my aftermarket boost and exuast temp guages

Does anyone have any idea on what is going on here????

Fixed the problem to therev gauge myself :D , it was only off the resting place it has at 0 so my fault anyways :o .
The speed gauge still not fixed :? , aparantly not the alarm that causing it.

Rung up some guy from toyota(head of something) who says that could be down to wear and tear being 16 years old now and best bet is to fork out for a second hand one

Any thoughts?? :?: :?: :?: :?:
