Postby Zyros » Sun Dec 02, 2007 3:55 pm

Hey all, just putting on the waterpump, and doing the timming on my engine.
On the idler bearing, (cambelt tensioner), whats goes into this hole..

4age 20valve silvertop ae101.

Top right ;)
Obviously the little holes for the spring, middle is to bolt the tensioner on.
The other hole where it connects to the block has no thread for a bolt.

It's on upside down.

there is a part on the oil pump housing that goes in there.

it is not a bolt hole, there is no thread, it's just a locator dowell that is there for it to pivot on.

There needs to be something there for it to pivot on.

And it might have dropped down around the crankshaft pulley somewhere. Have a good look around before putting it all back together. You don't want the dowel jamming things up.
See ya

the dowell will be there. the tnesioner in the image is installed backwards.

the fange witht he holes should eb facing the motor.

the dowel only sticks out 3 or 4 mm. it's highl unlikely that it's not there.

take a photo of your motor and post it here.
meh.....
