Did the clock light dim before you hooked up the high stop light?

If not, thats another problem :?

Your other problem sounds like your brake and light wires are touching somewhere??

as above, or I'd question the 'origional wires' as it sounds like you have it earthed through the light feed.
Cant believe im still a member here.

Where have you taken the feed for your high-stop from? Maybe try earthing it on the body, and only running one wire down to the brake light.

sounds like the wires you found already there are hooked up to the park lights rather than brake lights....

when you say its fine without the park lights on, do you mean it functions correctly?

easy fix is just run a new wire from a brake light.... no problems then.
