unsure of price. havn't heard it running, but appearantly runs well but leaking oil from either the rocker cover or camseals.is due for cambelt anyway.

Ah ok. Hopefully the misses wont mind haha.

Are they a good engine normally? Anything normally happen to them?

do have a bad rep for blowing H/Gaskets, but like turbo toyota diesels, most of it comes down to preventative maintenence.

hmmm - so might be worth doing the HG on it - as long as I buy if for being cheap enough lol

the VZ engines actually show signs of a blown head gasket because they crack the oil gallery/water gallery along the top of the block by the frost plugs.

it's had a new radiator fitted, so it may have already had the gaskets done. trade me is usually well stocked with Camrys with blown trans or H/G. often get a whole car for under $500

ok, so engine in question is rooted??

COULD be, but no gurantees. I think if you dont catch them early enough then the cracked galleries is the result. Have heard of some people just doing headgaskets and they are sweet. To be perfectly honest they are one of the engines i'd just put in the 'to hard' basket

only a joke cos its a 1.6ton ute being slightly pushed by a 1.6 least torque engine he could of found under the toyota badge. a 2t would do a better job of it.
