Well, we went for a drive out to oxford yesterday for lunch. Was fine on the way there. However when I got back to chch, I noticed as i got back home and stopped the car, there was a shit of steam coming form the engine bay. How long this had been going on for dunno, as the air flow must have been just blowing it straight out without any steam in the mirrors. So popped the hood, and could see the coolant was spraying onto the manifold causing the steam/smoke. On closer look, it looks as though it was coming from one of the piped going into teh turbo? But is bloody hard to be sure, there was a fine jet either coming from, or squirting away onto the pipe ( as shown in photos below) So could that be the culprit? Are they coolant pipes for the turbo? I let it cool down over night, and have just been out, have topped up the coolant, only took about a litre or so which I am hoping is a good sign. On the way home, the engine was running in its normal temp range, so there were no signs of this until I stopped. Without removing the pipe, I cant be sure that its the culprit, but has anybody had a issue like this before? Should I be alright to drive it to the mechanics sometime this week?
