20v clutches/flywheels

after some ideas on what people have used before. yes i have searched already...

silvertop coupled to t50 in my rally starlet. standard clutch and flywheel as far as i know. I have been having issues creeping in, in that after a stage the clutch is becoming hard to release and get the car off the mark when warm, ok when its cool again. I've just pulled the clutch out and to my completely untrained eye it all looks ok. Flywheel could probably do with a skim.

But while i've got it apart, what flywheel/clutch combos work well in this app? standard clutch has been good for 7 years of rallying, the engine is standard so its not like it has to deal with power. But i'm tempted on the flywheel front, as long as i dont sacrifice mid range pull...

what combo's have people used and what flywheels are available for silvertop peeps? would simply using a blacktop flywheel suffice?

Blacktop would be mint, or fork out for Toda etc. Probably wouldnt want to go too light in a rally car though. Clutch fluid isnt old and borked?

if you wanna bring your cars to hamilton you're welcome to use it brad! :lol: :lol:

fluid could be an issue, im only using castrol dot 4 stuff, maybe i should upgrade. its probably a season old, and possibly a bit grubby..

Nice Fidanza alloy flywheel would suit you well

Along with a heavy duty pressure plate and puk solid center clutch.

I dont want anything too harsh, even tho its rally application. wouldn't this clutch be fairly hard for normal driving? what are the flywheels worth do you know?

Cheapest option is buy a new clutch.

Fidanza flywheels are about $500

Solid center puck clutch would be crap to drive compared to the factory one u had been using. I wouldnt go to that extreme if u say the factory one suficed. Id go full face carbon kevlar, sprung center with heavier p plate. Will be nicer to drive. I picked up an aftermarket flywheel with trd clutch kit for 180. So there are bargains to be had. Otherwise a blacktop flywheel is the next best thing.

used blacktop flywheel and "heavy duty" rpm? clutch on my kp. nothing fancy but works well and had years of abuse, with some drags and drifting. on about 105rwkw .

yea after doing more research i think blacktop flywheel is the simple option. do they bolt straight up to silvertop no problems?

Black top flywheel is exactly same thing as silvertop but with most of the outer ring where the clutch bolts on cut out.
