Only Externally regulated 4AGE's are the ones that are a conversion and still use a 4K, 3A etc alternator,

and the AW11 4AGZE's are also external, and very rare, and have very expensive special regulators.

And voltage while cranking will tell you stuff all, as depens on the type of starter, battery type, and compression.

with cleaning copper termanals that have oxidized you drop them in a cup of boiling water with a teaspoon of baking soda.they come out nice.my car wouldnt start on 12.4 because the battery had blown a cell i forgot that.marshal batteries ran some tests they were real helpful.

I took mine to an auto sparky, he tested it and said it was fine. However he also said, that he cant guarantee it is actually fine, as the test he did using some machine, doesnt always show up a naffed alternator...

how did you get on, what progress have you made?
