i wished it was that, but the mileage i'm getting IS driving like a granny... well almost. if i drive more "spiritedly", i get like 160km to 23 litres. thats like 7km/litre - seriously uncool for an NA 1.6 litre.

It the oxy sensor plugged in and working?

Cant be an airleak on a silvertop as that would make it go lean, not rich.

its not a silvertop, its a redtop small port.

and yes, oxygen sensor is plugged in, but is probably broken.

got fault codes 24 and 21 codes....

i think the blue plug that goes into the stock air box needs to be plugged in to make the intake air temp fault code go away... but i'm not sure, trying to establish what its for... here is the sensor i'm talking about

just regarding the air intake temp sensor. the sensor itself is about 6-7cm long and tapers to a sort of point at one end, i think 2 wired goin into it. you definately need that plugged in. whereas the larger blue plug i still dont knw that that does but in my smallport corolla its always been just sitting upon other wires and i talked to a autoelectrician when i just had my engine tuned up recently and he said dont worry about it so meh and it doesnt seem to change anythin if i had it inline with the airflow or not inline so yea. but yea oxy sensor is first thing to check.

ok, i can't be bothered fixing that image thing.
docTRD seems to know about the plug i'm talking about but yeah, i'm still getting the air intake temp error code even after changing the sensor. i didn't run it for very long after changing it before checking the error codes the 2nd time around, so i'll check again tomorrow or something...

Pull your efi fuse out for 30 seconds then put it back in, it will delete all the stored codes, then try again after going for a spin round the block.
