blacktop cams

Postby qik20v » Thu May 13, 2004 5:09 pm

has anyone actually put cams into a blacktop?

if so what power gains did you notice and what duration/lift were they?

also anyone done this on a standard computer? or is it better to just get a link plus?

Yes it is, intake is slightly longer in duration. It wouldn't make a great deal of difference.

any cam shop you talk to will tell you what grind they'll give
Main thing is this though. If it sounds to cheap it will be nasty.

Hey MattrickMotorsport, sounds like we're heading down the same path with our engines. Are you going to the bigger valves as well?

I have also gone with the kelford cam grind, couldnt be arsed getting there new cams for 1g and then have to get a new computer. There mild grind is ment to give and 8-10% increase in hp and run with the standard ecu.

ive driven a BZR with different cams, unknown specs of them, it just landed from japan for a car yard, all i can say is it was bloody fast and sounded nice at idle, would have just been a semi mild spec i would say
