Supercharger using oil

Postby Andy from the block » Mon May 17, 2004 3:09 am

Ive got a AE101 GTZ that is using up S/C oil.
I filled it up and within a tank of gas the dipstick reads low/near empty again.
I also lost a little boost when the oil runs low aswell, when oil was full I got close to 9psi when oil is low I get close to 8psi.
What could be wrong and what can be done to fix it?
cheers.

Ditch the supercharger, and whack a turbo on. There goes your oil usage usage problem, and you get a few more horse in return ;)

Ive recently changed my pulley bearing so I dont think its that.
SC doesnt make any 'funny' noises other than the normal sound that other S/C cars Ive been in make.
The intercooler is clean, not really any oil or anything.

nine times out of ten it would be oil just sillping past the bearing when hot but serously you mite have to take the sc off to cheak the play in the pulley bearing thats the most comin bearing to fail
its going to be a lot of messing around for piss all but hey its going to save you some cash
