no water in battery??

no water in battery??

i was playin around with my car and thought i would check the fluid levels, and there was no water in the battery!! 8O

what causes that?

unless youve rolled upside down and havent noticed?... :)
then possibly your alternator is overcharging and boiling the battery. It dosent still work does it?- was it like bone dry?

battery works all good, but i couldnt see any water at all, and it took a bit of water, not sure how much they hold

when filling you want to just cover the plates by around 1cm usually. some batterys have a plastic 'foot' which goes down from the breather to show the level to fill to. others are clear and have a level.
have you noticed any smells while driveing?- boiling batteries sometimes smell like rotorua

if it's an oldish battery, or you just haven't checked it in a while, don't panic.

If it's a newish battery, and you have checked it recently, then check as above mentioned that it isn't overcharging.

first time ive checked it since i had the car and the battery came with it, i will just keep an eye on it and see what happens.
