Yep ive got a blown exhaust manifold gasket, this engine has a custom turbo manifold jobbie. No doubt it'll be a standard torque setting for all 4age exhaust manifolds but what is it?
dont use acl gaskets as they will blow out real quick, try genuine, also hold a straight edge along the face of the manifold, it may be warped, in which case best thing to do is get a machine shop to skim it
Got it off and looks like it wasnt blown but wasnt torque'd down properly or isnt perfectly flat as u said gdsup. I put a set level (bubble type) on and it seems fine if not anextremely slight variation from on side to the other.
EDIT:
slight variation = roughly 0.5mm (is that enough to warrent a skimming?)
If its not dead flat then probably get it machined flat. Got mine machined and put another ACL gasket in (go the $2.49 gaskets ) And it lasted about 2 weeks. Decided to blow on my very first run down the track actually Genuine are about the 27 mark but have metal rings around each port rather than the ACL ones which are basically the shape cut out of the back of a Weetbix box.
